Our college started in the academic year 2000-01 with 65 students were admitted in B.Sc Computer Science and B. Com Departments. In the year 2002, B.sc Maths and BBA courses were started and in 2010 B.A (English) was started. At present 618 students had been studying. Of the 618 students 267 students are Boys and 351 students are Girls. 27 Teaching staff members are working. Of the 27 teaching staff members 14 Gents staff members 13 are Ladies staff. 5 Administrative staff members are working in the college besides principal.
Our Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has started in college as one among the 10 colleges under its direct supervision and management. Our University’s Aim to start these colleges, in to provide quality wisher education to the underprivileged, Deprived, poverty stricken and the economically downtrodden and in turn to uplift the students which enable their family as well as the society they belonged. Our Alumni’s are working in government service, private sectors police departments, Indian Army and para – military Service etc.
Our college teachers are tuned to work for the noble course of wisher education with the motto to enlighten, to organise, to enrich the students’ knowledge so as to enable them to meet out the present job employment opportunities. To enhance the skillful of the students, various activities for the students have been inducted successfully.
If a major breakthrough to this college history, the Government of Tamil Nadu has allotted a 5 acres of Land in Naduvakkurichi village which is about 8 kms from Sankarankovil town. Strenuous steps have been taken to build a college in the near future on the advice of our hon’ble vice – chancellor.
Remedial classes have been introduced to the part II English students to enable them, to get through this subject within their degree completion. The classes have been conducted after college hours. (i.e) 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Competitive Examination classes have been conducted with the help of Tirunelveli District Employment office and its officials. SSC, TNPSC, and Tamil Nadu Police service recruitment classes have been conducted freely after college hours 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Malaivel siddha clinic, Karivalam vandanallur has promised to donate Digital LCD projector for our college.
