The DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY was established on 10th of September 2007. The Department has successfully
completed its one academic year since then and has entered into its next year with high aspirations and
foreseeing plans. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is the first institution of its kind in the south of
Tamilnadu, offering a regular course in Psychology, especially, for the students of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin
and Kanyakumari Districts. |

| COURSE OFFERED |
The department is currently offering M.Sc. Counselling psychology. This is a
5 Year Integrated Course, with Specialisation in Counselling.
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University stands proud to say that it’s the only University in India to offer
an Integrated Master’s course in Counselling Psychology.
Duration of the Course:
The course is for five academic years. The five academic years will be divided into ten semesters with two semesters per year.
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the integrated M.Sc. Counselling Psychology course shall be required to have passed Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Government
of Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the University.
