Guidelines to Onsite Academic Institutions
Ø
The advertisement
by Onsite Academic Institutions through printed media should get prior approval
of the Registrar. Onsite Academic Institutions should not give cheap publicity
maligning reputation / status of the University.
Ø
The last date for
admission of students is 31st August (Academic year) & 31st
March (Calendar year) for admission to all courses.
Ø
Onsite Academic
Institutions should collect only the prescribed fee by the University from the
Applicants. No excess fee should be charged on the students. If done, the
University will summarily cancel such Institutions for offering Onsite
Programmes. All filled in applications along with required fee and original
certificates should reach the Onsite Academic Programme section of the
University on or before the closing date. Applications received after the
closing date will not be entertained. The University has reserved the rights to
admit or reject applications without giving notice to Onsite Academic
Institutions, if found defective.
The students have to remit the tuition fee in the form of Demand Draft
drawn in favour of The Registrar,
Manonmaniam
Sundaranar University
payable at Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu and submit the same along with necessary
fee to the Onsite campus/centres
concerned for onward transmission to
the Registrar, Manonmaniam
Sundaranar University,
Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.

All admissions
are confirmed only by the Registrar of the University. Onsite Academic
Institutions are not authorized to confirm admissions in their Institutions.
Admissions will be confirmed on verification of the following original
certificates by the specially formed admission team in the University Premises.
On confirmation, ID Cards will be issued with enrolment number.
Ø
The Onsite
Academic Institutions are permitted to deliver the programme either through
shift system or on regular mode on par with regular (on campus) course hours as
per UGC norms. On any circumstances the number of course hours should not be
reduced.
Ø
The National &
International Facilitator Cum Co-ordinator will report to the Registrar about
the functioning of Onsite Academic Institutions. The faculty appointed by the
Onsite Academic Institutions should be qualified as per UGC / University norms.
The name and qualification of the teaching faculty should be provided to the
University. Only qualified faculty approved by the University as per UGC norms
are permitted to teach in the Onsite Academic Institutions.

The ratio of
student-teacher as per UGC norms should be maintained by the Onsite Academic
Institutions. All class rooms should be clean and tidy and should have audio
visual facility with adequate number of computers. It is preferred the
student-computer ratio be 1:1 but 1:2 is compulsory.
Ø
Need based
curriculum for the industry /corporate of global requirements are designed by an
expert committee constituted by the University. The course hours as per syllabus
should be maintained by Onsite Academic Institutions. A frequent tests, student
seminars, interactive learning system should be adopted. Submission of
assignments and evaluation by teachers and feed back should be organized. The
classes should be conducted as part time batch (ie. 4 hrs / day / 7days) or on
regular mode batch keeping in mind to maintain course hours.

Onsite Academic
Institutions can recommend to the Registrar to take disciplinary action on those
students who misbehave in the class rooms. On approval of the Registrar of the
University such student can be expelled and the fees paid by the student will
not be refunded by the University. The overall monitoring of the pattern,
qualification and quality of delivery of the teachers in all Onsite Academic
Institutions and the instruction of the National & International Facilitator Cum
Co-ordinator should be carried out by the Onsite Academic Institutions
immediately failing which the National & International Facilitator Cum
Co-ordinator will report the matter to the Registrar for necessary action.

The conduct of
examination and evaluation will be done by the University. The COE shall be
responsible for setting up of question papers and evaluation of the answer
papers and declaration of results. The degree shall be awarded by the
University. The Controller of Examinations of the University will conduct the
examinations for Onsite Academic Institutions. The date, Time and venue for
conducting Onsite Academic Programme examinations will be fixed by the COE. The
COE will depute University staff as examination observer for all Onsite Academic
Programme examinations Institutions. Onsite Academic Institutions have to
provide all assistance to the University staff.

The expenses
including the remuneration to the Supervisor, Hall rent, Stationery items and
the other incidental expenses shall be met by Onsite Academic Institutions.
Online Examinations will be conducted wherever possible as approved by the Board
of Studies for specific courses.
Ø
The exam results
will be published in the University website and a hardcopy will be sent to the
Onsite Academic Institutions. Mark sheets will be despatched to the Onsite
Academic Institutions within 10 days from the date of publication results.
Failed candidates have to reappear in the subsequent examination as per m
regulations. There is no discretion in the award of Diploma / Degree between on
campus and Onsite Academic Programme students of the University.
Ø
Course Completion
Certificate will be issued to the candidates after successful completion of the
course. This can be used in lieu of Transfer certificate for all purposes.
Degree will be rewarded by the university to the successful candidates. Students
should apply to the university with the prescribed fee.
